Girls on the Run Tri County 5k

Today is my 22nd Anniversary! I've been married to the hubs for half my life! How crazy is that?
What better way to start the day than a 5k with hundreds of little girls?

For obvious reasons there won't be any pics of these adorable littles. It was a fun race, and I ran...walked... with one of the sassiest girls on my team!

My friend Lissa was a course marshal so I saw her around mile 2.

We also hung at Starbucks for over an hour afterwards. She's one of my favorite people and it's easy to lose track of time when we get together!

The bling was really cute. I started with a pink ribbon, but a little girl wanted one and when she finished they only had white left. How could I resist?

The rest of today is all about the hubs... well, not really. We are celebrating my birthday with friends tonight. I know, it's been a month, but this was the first time everyone was available.

Happy Saturday, y'all!

Thursday Training Update and the Chicago Marathon

Last week was the start of Chicago Marathon Training! Holy heck, where did the time go?

I got my training plan from the head of my running club, the PG Speed Demons. He's done hundreds of marathons and ultras (yes, many hundreds, the guy is a beast and has done Boston 17 times, I believe.) so I am more than willing to use his plan!

On to last week's workouts!

Wednesday: Girls on the Run and a dog walk

Thursday: 3.7 miles with the Speed Demons

Friday: drove to Nashville and walked all over the expo and Music Row.

Saturday: RnR Nashville and Mini Golf

Sunday: drove home and walked the dogs

Monday: total rest day! We had Girls on the Run but we were indoors and I didn't move around much. My Chicago tank arrived too!

Tuesday: 3.1 miles with the Speed Demons. Tired legs but a beautiful morning!

I also registered for all 3 races...

Wednesday: back to 9 Round after about 3 weeks off! It was leg day, and I lived to tell you about it.... barely...
We also walked at Girls on the Run and I walked the dogs with the hubs, plus I did the Fit Star Fit Test. Whew!

I think 9 Round was my favorite workout this past week. What was your favorite?

Disney Princess Weekend 2018

In case you've missed it, I'm addicted to Disney races. It's a horrible sickness, and I hope there's no cure for it!

My plans for 2018 were simple. Goofy in January with Morgan, and Dark Side in April with whoever I can drag with me. Then my friend Christie asks me if I want to join her and another running friend, Sara, for Princess weekend.
I never even considered it, to be honest. I don't even know why. Who wouldn't want to run with 30,000 of your closest friends and dress like a princess?
Of course I jumped right on that bandwagon and signed up for all 3 races. Go big or go home, right?

Now the only question is this....
What 3 costumes should I wear?

Who else will be there?

Chicago Marathon Training Has Begun!

I am in shock! How is it already time to start training?

My first official training run actually happened in Nashville! I had 3 miles on the schedule, ran 9 and walked most of the last 4. I think that's pretty ok! For the 1 mile recovery run on Sunday, I walked the dogs instead.

So, here are a few numbers for you....

159.
That's the number of days until the marathon!

1870.
The number of dollars I have raised so far!

5/8
The week that I will get my corral assignment!

Holy heck!

This is getting real, y'all.
And if that's not real enough, this arrived today....

My training shirt! Thankfully, it's a tank! Hopefully we get one with sleeves for the race! I imagine it will not be tank weather this October!

Are you training for a big race?
